Premium. It’s a word a lot of us have heard and used ad nauseam to the point that it feels about as empty as “innovation” in the tech geek lexicon. It’s a word that evokes images almost exclusively of metals and glass, the sort of materials that have become the default shorthand for manufacturers to express the idea that their phones have been crafted with care and expertise. They’re not bad materials necessarily, I have a 6 Plus after all and I think I’m one of the few that actually likes the 6 design language, but it does get a little boring seeing a lot of the same in smartphones across the board.
